Enzo’s Monday Motion #47: EURO 2016
At the end of this week the 15th edition of the European Championship kicks of in France. A perfect moment for brands to shine and connect with the fans.
No, I’m not hating on Holland.. I’m referring to the spot of the French telecom supplier starring their all time hero Zidane. The focus is not on the national team but on the force that drives them: the fans. Zizou leads the talent scout in search for the greatest fan. It’s clear that the spot was recorded a while back since we do see some Dutch fans in the spot..
Nevertheless Orange stays up to date with their campaign by selecting the ‘Fan of the Match’ after each game.
Match of the day
From Fan of The Day to the legendary programme Match of the Day. The BBC has a legacy when it comes to sport programmes and that also stands for the matching idents. Concept wise they’ve stayed a bit on the stereotype French side with a Renaissance theme boasted by an outdated track of Justice. I do have to give credits to the stylist and DOP Steve Annis for delivering the matching visuals style.
We stay in England for the next spot. What’s a tournament without a bit of gambling? English betting office BetVictor is giving away one million pounds to the person who predicts the the scorer and time of the first finale goal. The concept is by Mr. president and the nice animations are done by Richard Swarbrick.
Back to France where all tickets are sold out! So the French do what they do best… strike! Carlsberg continued their long lasting campaign “if Carlsberg did..” for the Euro 2016 and made an epic spot starring former French captain Marcel Desailly. Concept by 72andSunny Amsterdam.
You can always count on the big brands to deliver some blockbuster spots. Puma payed well attention to the success formula of Nike by delivering a spot filled with stars, tricks and action.
All time rivals
You’ve got your England tickets and booked your flight. Right on schedule! Until your flight gets cancelled and you have to fly with ‘Sie German’ Lufthansa. Fun concept by Kolle Rebbe.
Enjoy the tournament and forza Italia.
