Enzo’s Monday Motion #144: Halloween
It’s officially winter time, which means Halloween is just around the corner. 6
66 horrifying videos await the brave ones…
Halloween might not be the best time for experimenting with hallucinating drugs. Let me convince you why…
Even though the video is already seven years old it still looks fresh while giving me the creeps at the same time. Director Amador Valenzuela mixes film, animation, and illustration into one trippy experience thanks to the visual style by Kyle Fletcher.
Dieter Rams step aside: Nest is taking over! Their products are not only utile and good looking, their identity is so smart it’s only a matter of time when they dominate your house… Trigger or treat wise with their intelligent doorbell.
The mixed animation styles work well together. Still figuring out who’s the director behind the mask… Cudo’s for him and the production team!
Officer & Gentleman have been PornHUb’s official ad agency for a while now. They managed to get massive attention without being banned for mature content. Lots of times by making strange combinations, but this one is actually pretty simple and smart: trigger or treat grown up style.
What can I say: they nailed it again!
Back to the little ones: Nickelodeon asked production agency Radio for an immense series of idents, and it did not scare them at all…
The brief was to bring to life a haunted house occupied by spooky characters. Working closely together with the in house Nick team they created their own little new Frankestein’s with a thick reference to the existing show characters like SpongeBob SquarePants, The Loud House and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The idents were directed by Byron Meiring, art direction by Arno Visser and animation under the lead of Geoff Trussler.
For us motion designers Halloween comes more often than we want to. Some inside pain shared on Halloween.
Markus Magnusson joined the Animation SmashDown contest with his fun Halloween themed short. I don’t know if he won, but i do feel his pain!
Directer duo Seamus Walsh & Mark Caballero created a special Halloween episode for SpongeBob Squarepants. Their fabulous Frankenstein episode stichtes the familiair humor together with Jim Henson’s Muppets. In “The Legend of Boo-kini Bottom” The Flying Dutchman comes to Bikini Bottom to scare everyone. He only didn’t count for Spongebob….
I love the creative freedom the directors were given. Big up for Nickelodeon allowing them to create a stop motion special.
In flight safety videos are more like testscreens than the latest blockbuster you were dying to see. The next set of airlines were finally paying attention (to you)! Fasten your seatbelts and get amazed by these five thrilling safety videos.
